The Ross Unit (Rᵤ)

Measurement of Exosomes for Scientific Research and Product Evaluation

Developed by Kimera Labs

Kimera Labs introduces the Ross Unit (Rᵤ), a new standard in exosome measurement and characterization—developed to advance exosome science beyond particle count alone.
Beyond Particle Count

Not Every Particle is an Exosome

Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA) is commonly used to measure the size and concentration of nanoparticles within a sample. But detecting a particle does not necessarily mean that particle is an exosome.

Other nanoparticles and biological material can contribute to a total particle count, making particle enumeration alone an incomplete representation of an exosome preparation.

Kimera Labs developed Rᵤ to establish a new standard for exosome characterization, measurement, and potency.

A Different Approach

Rᵤ Measures What Matters

Rᵤ was developed to provide an additional analytical framework for exosome measurement and characterization. Rather than defining an exosome preparation solely by the number of detectable nanoparticles, Rᵤ incorporates measurable biological components associated with the preparation.

RNA Cargo

Exosomes carry RNA as part of their molecular cargo. Rᵤ incorporates measurement of RNA associated with the exosome preparation.

Protein Concentration

Proteins are fundamental components associated with exosomes. Rᵤ incorporates protein concentration as part of its characterization framework.

Advancing Exosome Science

A Measurement Designed for EXOSOME SCIENCE

Rᵤ was developed to help bridge the gap between detecting particles and understanding the biological components that define exosome potency and characterization.
