As we make progress with our own developments in exosome technology, Kimera Labs continues to collect scientific evidence about the nature of exosomes and their unique biologic properties. Kimera Labs Offer Optimal-Purity, Isolated Stem Cell Exosomes

A leading exosome biotechnology laboratory specializing in the production of perinatal mesenchymal stem cell-derived (MSC) exosome products for scientific and clinical research.

Founded in 2012 by Duncan Ross, Ph.D., Kimera Labs has been the leader in the field of MSC exosome production and isolation. Unlike biologic tissue laboratories that manufacture exosome products by direct processing of donor tissues such as adult bone marrow or placenta, Kimera Labs produces MSC exosomes from isolated mesenchymal stem cells cultures using chemically defined media, which contains no animal or human serum, following regulations laid out by the FDA.

Using advanced, proprietary, exosome isolation technology, Kimera produces the highest-purity MSC exosomes at scale to enable clinical development of novel, exosome-based, therapeutic modalities. By harvesting, isolating and purifying the developmental message contained within exosomes produced by perinatal mesenchymal stem cells, we believe further study will demonstrate that it is possible to stimulate healing processes and tissue regeneration that can benefit patients of any age.

In order to provide the highest-quality clinical and research-grade MSC exosomes, Kimera Labs has invested significant resources in Exosome Characterization and Quality Management including CGMP standards.

Multi-modality characterization of MSC exosomes intended for use in clinical research and future clinical applications ensures the purity and consistency of each production line. Confirmation of the quality of Kimera Labs exosomes utilizes advanced exosome characterization technologies such as ELISA protein analysis, high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC), RNA sequencing, NanoSight Nano Tracking Analysis, Atomic Force Microscopy, Electron Microscopy and STORM super resolution fluorescence microscopy. Kimera Labs strict production and characterization requirements have been implemented to ensure consistent production of its exosome products including pharmaceutical-grade MSC exosomes.

MSC Exosome Therapeutics and Diagnostics

Kimera Labs continues to pursue advancements in MSC exosome production and development of exosome-based diagnostics and therapeutics, operating in two adjacent state-of-the-art facilities featuring ISO 5 hoods and class 7 clean rooms.

Kimera Labs produces MSC exosomes that harness the regenerative power of stem cells for future therapeutic applications without using the cells themselves. Using the suite of advanced exosome characterization technology required for the highest level of quality assurance, Kimera Labs is also developing profiles of circulating exosomes present in injury and disease that will lead the way for diagnostic modalities to allow earlier and more accurate detection than traditional tests. Post-doctoral scientific researchers at Kimera Labs work closely with highly respected physicians and surgeons to collaboratively design and develop new diagnostic and treatment modalities such as indication-specific, engineered exosomes and optimized delivery systems for MSC exosomes.
